As trusted advisors, Synergy is here to unpack the key highlights and implications of this year's budget.
One of the standout features of the budget is the extension of the small business instant asset write-off threshold to $20,000 for the 2025 income year. This move provides small businesses with immediate deductions for eligible assets, which incentivises investment in essential infrastructure and equipment.
Small businesses with an aggregated turnover of less than $10 million will be able to immediately deduct the full cost of an eligible asset costing less than $20,000 that is purchased and first used or installed by 30 June 2025. Please note that the $20,000 threshold applies on a per eligible asset basis.
At present from 1 July 2025 the instant asset write off threshold will revert back to assets costing less than $1,000.
